The recent Covid-19 pandemic has crippled the world. It has affected us greatly and the world has missed two important years of rapid development. You can’t tell which sector got the highest damage because it was an equally devastating time for the whole world. In this time of crisis, many companies worked together and came up with different solutions to chase down this virus. Following are some contributions in the technical field made by companies to fight the virus.
Coca Cola
Just like other leading brands, Coca-Cola has also been working hard to contribute in any way. They have been providing additional funding and grants to different companies and foundations in response to coronavirus. Till now, they have offered a total of $55M that was distributed among different foundations all over the world.
Some foundations that were influenced by their help include Center of Disaster Philanthropy Inc. in the USA, Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere Inc. in India and Bangladesh, Croce Rossa Italiana – Organizzazione di Volontariato in Italy, and many others.
ETEN Restaurant
Taking things to a lower level, the ETEN Restaurant in Amsterdam, Netherlands has come up with an innovative solution for dining. They have installed glass dining houses on each table, that keep the customers enclosed within them to protect them from the virus. This is an innovative idea and let people enjoy their meals safely. The restaurant has a spark in its customer number after the glass dining houses were installed. This is because the customers could easily enjoy dining with social distancing as well.
LEGO
LEGO has also joined other top companies in the battle against the deadly virus. They have introduced their unique device for hand sanitizing. The sanitizing robot is designed with colorful LEGO blocks that make it attractive for the children. It mainly works as an automated sanitization device that is attached to a sanitizer. The device has a sensor at its top that detects the person’s hand.
The automated sanitizer robot is mainly a small contribution by LEGO in the fight against coronavirus.
CERATIZIT
Another great effort has been made by CERATIZIT which is supporting McLaren Racing with cutting tools for the production of artificial ventilators. CERATIZIT develops and produces highly specialized cutting tools, indexable inserts, rods made from hard materials and wear parts.
Actually, at the start of the coronavirus period, McLaren Racing was requested by the British government to help them design and manufacture 10,000 ventilators to help against the virus. CERATIZIT is offering their expertise and tool cutting technology to McLaren Racing for their task.
CERATIZIT has been fully supporting the government’s efforts and has put together, a special package for the design and manufacture of ventilators. They have offered different tools their high-performance drills, that were provided to produce precision holes with a diameter of up to 16xD in both aluminum and steel. Including this, CERATIZIT has offered technical assistance as well, which was provided by Michael May, Industry Solutions Engineer, and Bob Thompson, Technical Sales Engineer.
CERATIZIT has been offering continuous support since the starting period of Covid-19 and is still working hard for the change.
